PRP for Hair Loss: What to Ask Before You Start
PRP uses a portion of your own blood on the scalp. It is one option for selected hair loss, not a substitute for a diagnosis.

In short
PRP for hair loss means drawing a small amount of your blood, concentrating the platelets, and placing that portion into the scalp. It may support some types of thinning, but it does not treat every cause of hair fall, and regrowth is not guaranteed. At Dr. L. Divya Skin Clinic in Miyapur it is discussed only after the pattern of loss is examined.
What actually happens
A blood sample is taken from your arm and spun so the platelet-rich portion separates. That portion is then injected or applied into thinning scalp. You can expect pinprick discomfort and a day or two of tenderness. The scalp should not be sold as a spa treatment with no medical questions.
Platelets release growth signals. That is the theory. Published results vary with the diagnosis, the way the sample is prepared, and how success is photographed. A before-and-after from another person is not your forecast.
Diagnosis comes before the centrifuge
A widened partition, a smooth bald patch, and a receding hairline are different diseases. Dermoscopy and, when the history suggests it, blood tests change the plan. Starting PRP because a relative liked it skips that step.
The homepage of the clinic also mentions stem cell therapy and hair transplantation for selected disorders. Those are not automatic add-ons to PRP. Each one has its own suitability and limits.
- Ask what diagnosis the doctor is treating
- Ask what else, such as minoxidil or a medicine review, is part of the plan
- Ask how the result will be judged, not only how it will be photographed
When to wait
Active scalp infection, a bleeding disorder, or an unclear diagnosis are reasons to wait. Pregnancy is a reason to postpone elective procedures. If hair is shedding after a fever two months ago, many people improve without PRP once the trigger has passed.
Book the hair consultation at the Miyapur clinic if the loss is patchy, rapid, or accompanied by scalp symptoms. Call +91 90635 55040 if you need the current session times before you travel.
Questions patients ask
No. Shedding after illness, thyroid disease, iron deficiency, scalp infection, and scarring hair loss need their own plans. PRP is considered for selected pattern thinning and some non-scarring loss, after the diagnosis is clear.
Clinics often plan a short series, then review. The number is not universal. If density has not changed after a fair trial, repeating the same injections without a new assessment is not a good plan.
No. PRP does not move hair follicles. A transplant relocates follicles from one area to another and is a separate operation, considered only for suitable pattern loss when medical treatment has been discussed.
