Peels
Chemical Peels: Uses, Suitability, and Aftercare
A peel is a controlled exfoliation. The useful question is not how strong it is, but whether your skin should have one now.

Uses that are realistic
Superficial peels are used for comedonal acne, mild surface pigment, and rough texture. They do not lift deep scars or replace treatment of active cystic acne.
Depth, acid, and contact time are chosen in clinic. A higher strength is not automatically a better medical choice on Indian skin tones, where post-inflammatory pigmentation is a real risk.
Who should wait
Wait if you are pregnant, have an active facial infection or cold sore, have a fresh tan, or have recently had isotretinoin, unless the dermatologist has specifically cleared the timing.
People who cannot avoid sun exposure in the recovery window often get a better result by postponing the peel.
Aftercare
Expect tightness. Flaking may be mild. Do not pick sheets of skin. Use the moisturiser and sunscreen you were given, and pause retinoids and scrubs until told to restart.
The clinic’s procedure advice for acne-related care includes short-term sun avoidance plus moisturiser and sunscreen. Follow the written instructions from your own visit if they differ.
